Joy+Sticks was a gaming blog and podcast about the games that brought us joy, and the games that excited us about as much as a pile of sticks. The blog ran from 2017 until 2019, and the podcast ran from 2019 until 2022.
We typically shared our opinions, theories, and experiences. Occasionally (depending on how important we felt) that meant addressing topics about issues and social problems that plague the realm of gaming; from the representations of minorities in a AAA title, to annoying stereotypes/clichés that just won’t seem to go away, and even the frustrating realities of being so broke and having so little time to catch up on our extreme backlog of games.
In short: we’re huge nerds, we live out half of our lives in digital worlds, and we had a lot to say about them.
