Another year, another E3. 2018’s showcase has come and gone, and we’re still sifting through the barrage of content, announcements, and information. To round it all up, we’ve put together an exhaustive list of everything that was showed during each presentation, in order of appearance. We’ve highlighted the games we’re especially excited about, and compiled a list of the ones we aren’t.
We hope you enjoyed E3 as much as we did! Don’t forget to connect with us on Instagram and Twitter to share the excitement.

EA Games
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (TBA – Holiday 2019)
The only game I really cared about during EA’s presentation, and it was revealed in the worst way possible: while standing in the middle of the crowd, with no other details besides the name and that “we’ll get to hold a lightsaber.” Still, a new Star Wars game that isn’t part of the Battlefront series is a welcome and exciting announcement for me. My imagination is running wild with the possibilities.
Also announced (but, for us, not too exciting):
Anthem (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – February 22, 2019)
Battlefield V (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – October 19)
Unravel Two (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – Today)
Command & Conquer: Rivals (Mobile – TBA)

Microsoft Xbox
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4, Xbox One – January 29, 2019)
The first of what would culminate to be three (very similar) trailers for the much-anticipated next chapter in the Kingdom Hearts series, this one revealed a new world based on Disney’s Frozen. I don’t think anyone was expecting to see this during Xbox’s presentation because Kingdom Hearts was a Playstation exclusive for the first two installments in the series. I guess it makes sense now that it’s coming to both Playstation 4 and Xbox One for the first time, and who isn’t excited for this game? After all, we’ve been waiting for it for literally twelve whole years.
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit (PS4, Xbox One, Steam – June 26)
Set in the expanded world of Life is Strange, Captain Spirit aims to both tide fans over while they wait for Life is Strange 2, while at the same time setting the stage and offering a deeper dive into the lore. It looks to be a cute, albeit short, experience. Also, it’ll be free, so that leaves little room for complaint.
Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – 2019)
I don’t even know what to say about this one. It’s the much-anticipated new title from CD PROJEKT RED, who made The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and my personal favorite Gwent: the Witcher Card Game, so I can’t help but be instantly excited. It looks incredibly beautiful, and what little we know about the world and its story has me wanting more.
Fallout 76 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – November 14)
This trailer was shown in advance of Bethesda’s presentation, so it was a little light on details. What we’ve learned so far about the game has me pretty excited, and this is coming from someone who’s not a fan of any of the previous Fallout games. It’s got base building, PvP, danger, survival, and I’m pumped.
Also showcased (but, for us, not too exciting):
Halo Infinite (Windows, Xbox One – TBA)
Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Windows, Xbox One – 2019)

Bethesda Game Studios
The Elder Scrolls: Legends relaunch (Mobile, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Xbox One – 2018)
Legends has been out for a while now exclusively for mobile, but this year the card game has changed developers, is getting an overhaul, and is coming to consoles (including the Nintendo Switch!). I’ve always wanted to get into this game, but could never really get behind the touch controls. Maybe now that we’ll be able to play it with physical buttons things will be different? We shall see!
The Elder Scrolls: Blades (Mobile, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Xbox One – Fall 2018)
A mobile Elder Scrolls? I remain skeptical, but the idea behind it sounds and looks, at the very least, compelling. It’s coming to mobile first, with consoles to follow shortly after, and will see the series return to its Arena roots. The game can be pre-ordered now, and will have a closed beta that you can sign up for right now on Bethesda.net.
The Elder Scrolls VI (TBA)
I get a special thrill watching this, and it’s only a few seconds of beautiful vista. We still don’t have a subtitle for the game, but at the very least Bethesda has finally acknowledged that it’s coming, and it’s releasing after the new Starfield game they teased during the announcement (which we’re pretty “meh” about).
Fallout 76 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – November 14)
This is where Fallout 76 truly shone. They showed off all of the base building mechanics, emphasized its online focus, as well as introduced a new mechanic that will allow a group of players to collect nuclear codes and launch nuclear strikes anywhere on the map. Additionally, Bethesda revealed that playing online would pit players against each other on the same map, making and defending bases as well as attacking and looting each other, but it can be played offline, solo, as well.
Also showcased (but, for us, not too exciting):
Rage 2 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – Spring 2019)
Fallout Shelter (Mobile, PS4, Nintendo Switch – Today)
Doom Eternal (TBA)
Prey: Mooncrash DLC (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – Today)
Wolfenstein: Youngblood (TBA)
Starfield (TBA)
The Elder Scrolls Online: Wolf Hunter DLC (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – 2018)
Prey VR (TBA)
Wolfenstein VR (TBA)
Quake Champions (Mobile – Today)

Square Enix
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4, Xbox One – January 29, 2019)
The second of the three trailers we were treated to during E3, this one is largely the same as the first, with a few more story details edited in.
Octopath Traveler (Nintendo Switch – Demo June 14, full game July 13)
A Nintendo Switch exclusive, Octopath Traveler features eight playable characters, each with their own stories, abilities, and environments. It’s got an interesting visual style that’s a cross between 16-bit and HD, and while I’m still on the fence about its story elements, I’m pumped for the full release of the game (and the new demo that just dropped today).
Also showcased (but, for us, not too exciting):
Final Fantasy XIV: Under the Moonlight DLC (PS4, Mac, Windows, Xbox One – Today)
Final Fantasy XIV Monster Hunter: World crossover (PS4, Mac, Windows, Xbox One – TBA)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – September 14)
Just Cause 4 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – December 4)
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (PS4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS – September 4)
Babylon’s Fall (2019)
The Quiet Man (TBA)

Ubisoft
Assasin’s Creed Odyssey (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – October 5)
We’re big fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise here at Joy+Sticks Gaming, but more specifically their new direction. Origins was a reinvention of the series, and Odyssey is a re-reinvention follow-up. You can choose whether to play as a male or a female, and for the first time in the franchise your choices will have an impact on the story at hand. It’s much more open, both in terms of its world and its story, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
Skull & Bones (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – 2019)
As we mentioned above, we’re big fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and one of our favorite Assassin’s Creed games is Black Flag. Thankfully, Skull & Bones is a spin-off of that game, but more specifically its swashbuckling ship battle mechanics. Many have pointed out that it’s a lot like Sea of Thieves, but from what I’ve seen I like Skull & Bones‘ take on the world of Pirates much more.
Also showcased (but, for us, not too exciting):
Just Dance 2019 (PS4, Nintendo Switch, Wii, Wii U, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox 360 – October 23)
Beyond Good and Evil 2 (2019)
Trials Rising (PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Xbox One – February 2019)
The Division 2 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – March 15, 2019)
Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong DLC (Nintendo Switch – June 26)
Transferrence (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – Fall 2018)
Starlink: Battle for Atlas (PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One – October 16)
For Honor: Marching Fire DLC (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – October 16)
The Crew 2 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – Beta June 21)

Sony Playstation
The Last of Us Part II (PS4 – TBA)
I absolutely loved The Last of Us, so obviously I’m bursting at the seams with these new Part II gameplay goodies. It seems to focus on Ellie, and even seems to finally tackle her homosexuality head-on (I mean, that kiss though!). I could go on and on forever about the hype I feel for this game, but I’ll let the gameplay trailer speak for itself.
Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 – TBA)
Ghost of Tsushima was a bit of a surprise for me, but its safe to say that within the first few minutes it grabbed my attention and is easily near the top of my list for most exciting games shown this E3. It’s set during the Mongol invasion of Japan, and is said to have an open world that players will be free to explore without restriction. After seeing it in action, I can’t wait to do just that.
Death Stranding (PS4 – TBA)
I mean, what the hell? Death Stranding is so strange, and we still don’t even fully know what the heck it’s even about, but it’s got us all hooked. At this point, I want to play the game just to figure out just what the hell it even is.
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4, Xbox One – January 29, 2019)
Our third and final look at Kingdom Hearts III revealed yet another new world, this time based on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. I’m a huge fan of these films (unpopular as the second and third may be), so this news was a big plus for me. Not to mention, look how good these graphics are! The hype is real for this game, and it looks to be shaping up to be well worth the twelve year wait.
Also showcased (but, for us, not too exciting):
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – October 12)
Destiny 2: Forsaken DLC (PS4 – September 4)
Control (TBA), Resident Evil 2 (PS4, Windows, Xbox One – January 25, 2019)
Trover Saves the Universe (PS4, PSVR – TBA)
Nioh 2 (TBA), Spider-Man (PS4 – September 7)
Déraciné (PSVR – TBA)

Nintendo
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! (Nintendo Switch – November 16)
The first Pokémon game to come to a home console is Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!. It’s a remake of Pokémon Yellow, but it’s also a crossover between the main Pokémon games and the hit mobile spin-off Pokémon Go. It was announced about a week ahead of E3, but during the showcase we got out first look at how the game will play, and it has us more hyped than we can even bear.
Fortnite (Mobile, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Xbox One – Today)
Fortnite has come to the Nintendo Switch. Who’s surprised? This game is massively successful, and it’s honestly the perfect fit for Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo Switch – December 7)
Everyone, and I mean everyone, is excited about this game. And now, we have even more reasons to get excited: every character that has ever been in the games, ever, is going to be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If that’s not enough, they also announced that Ridley from the Metroid series, as well as the Inklings from Splatoon 2, will be playable characters as well. And something tells me that there will be more announcements to come.
Octopath Traveler (Nintendo Switch – Demo June 14, full game July 13)
Our second look into the Nintendo Switch exclusive Octopath Traveler, but this time with a focus on each of the eight playable characters and their unique stories.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Xbox One – June 29)
Crash Bandicoot is coming to the Nintendo Switch, and that sentence alone is enough to make me squeal with glee. To help amplify this excitement, we were treated to some brand-new gameplay footage during Nintendo Treehouse Live.
Fallout Shelter (Mobile, PS4, Nintendo Switch – Today)
It isn’t the Fallout we were hoping to get on Nintendo Switch, but it’s fun and it’s free so what else could we really ask for? Here’s hoping that it’s still fulfilling its original purpose, and that it’s tiding us over for a surprise Fallout 4 port announcement.
Also showcased (but, for us, not too exciting):
Daemon X MachinaNintendo Switch – 2019) (
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna: Gold CountryNintendo Switch – September 2018) DLC (
